The Sheet Metal Machinery Service Mechanic will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery in a sheet metal and duct fabrication manufacturing and assembly operation. 


  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Responsible for repairing and installing sheet metal fabrication machinery. • Inspects machinery for proper functioning and diagnoses machinery malfunctions; performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems with non-functioning machinery. • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles machinery according to blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and schematics. • Uses test equipment and diagnostic equipment to perform troubleshooting. • Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on all sheet metal machinery. • Will have direct contact with our customers and their sheet metal machinery.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or GED required, College or Technical School is a plus. • Mechanical aptitude with a thorough knowledge of sheet metal machinery functions. • A minimum of 3 years sheet metal machinery experience performing maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical and manual sheet metal machinery with ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. • 3 years related experience in manufacturing maintenance operations, including troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance. • Must be able to read blueprints, schematics and drawings. • Knowledge of and proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic components. • Mechanical aptitude and strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving abilities. • Ability to pass background check and drug screen. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders with attention to detail. Ability to understand job instructions. Ability to communicate electronically with basic understanding of computers & programs. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Must be able to perform these operations using American units of money, weight, volume and distance. Attention to detail is a requirement. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. ATTENDANCE DEMANDS: Attendance is required Monday through Friday within normal business hours as established by the supervisor. Employee may be required to work overtime. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently require to use a hand to finger, handle and feel objects, took, and controls and to climb and balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate readily and to talk and hear. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
